WARE MALCOMB ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE ON USC CAMPUS PHARMACY
LOS ANGELES (February 13, 2025) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced construction is complete on a new pharmacy location at the University of Southern California. The firm provided interior architecture and design services for the tenant improvement project, totaling 2,819 square feet.
Ware Malcomb’s redesign enabled the university’s pharmacy services at the USC University Park Campus in Los Angeles to move into a larger location that was near other health services to better serve students, staff, and the public.

The 2,198 square foot pharmacy was designed to maximize overall operational efficiency. Front-of-house program elements include a retail area with product display, two consultation rooms and a waiting area. The back of house was carefully designed to include a dedicated receiving area for deliveries, compliant staff restroom and break room, and adequate footprint to accommodate a pharmacy robot that fills prescriptions called Script Pro.
The team incorporated upgraded infrastructure into the design, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) battery backups for its systems and technology. This allows the facility to maintain refrigeration consistency to keep medications at their correct temperatures, and ensures continuous power to the Script Pro robot and more.
The project is one of several on which Ware Malcomb has collaborated with USC in recent years. The firm has worked on approximately 25 projects with the university over the last decade. Ware Malcomb is currently designing another pharmacy for the university, filling a critical need for pharmacy access in South Los Angeles. Now in the construction drawings phase, the project is slated to be a larger facility in compliance with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development requirements.
General contracting services for the project were provided by HC Olson Construction.
