WASHINGTON D.C. (November 16, 2023) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced Lori Ambrusch has been promoted to Director, Science & Technology in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. In this role, she will lead the growth of the office’s Science & Technology Studio.

An active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Ambrusch is an award-winning and published designer who recently authored and co-authored articles in Lab Manager and Lab Design News. She recently led the design team from lab planning through construction for Precision Labs – Germantown, MD which won the NAIOP DC | MD Best Life Science Facility Award 2023. She is an industry mentor as part of the ISPE Women in Pharma/Emerging Leaders mentoring program, and participates regularly in the Chesapeake Bay Area Chapter.
Ambrusch has more than 10 years of in-depth experience in diverse laboratory projects including adaptive reuse, renovations, full floor fit-outs, government design-build and National Institute of Health (NIH) facilities. Her design experience also extends to healthcare, Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) facilities and United States Pharmacopeia (USP)-compliant clean rooms.
She received her Master of Architecture in Urban Design and Certificate in Laboratory Design from Harvard University, and Bachelor of Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University.
