Jay’s journey with Ware Malcomb began in 1998 when he joined as the Regional Director for the Irvine Corporate office. Over the years, he has held various key positions within the company, showcasing his steadfast dedication and leadership. He was promoted to Principal in 2001 and subsequently relocated to spearhead the growth of the Northern California office. In 2005, Jay moved to Chicago to drive Ware Malcomb’s expansion across the Midwest and East Coast markets. Jay’s commitment to international growth led him to oversee the establishment of the firm’s first Canadian office in Toronto in 2007.
Recognizing his outstanding contributions, Jay was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2012, and then in 2020, he assumed the role of President of Ware Malcomb. In this capacity, he is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and he is responsible for Ware Malcomb’s overall growth and business development, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional client service and nurturing client relationships. An accomplished architect, Jay is also highly engaged with Ware Malcomb’s Design Studio and oversees all aspects of design from an executive level. With a distinguished career spanning over 4 decades in the commercial real estate industry, his expertise extends across architecture and planning for various building types, including industrial, distribution/logistics, office, retail, healthcare, and hospitality.
Jay’s impact as an industry thought leader is underscored by his recognition as an Industrial Influencer by Real Estate Forum Magazine on two occasions. He has shared his insights at commercial real estate conferences across the United States and authored numerous articles on architecture and design, including the cover story “Industrial Buildings Go Vertical” in NAIOP’s Development Magazine.
Jay studied Architecture at the Boston Architectural Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a licensed Architect in the State of California and nine other states. Actively engaged in industry organizations, he is a member of NAIOP, serving on the Board of Directors for the NAIOP LA/Orange County Chapter, and he holds the position of Chairman of the NAIOP National Forum (e-Commerce III). Jay is also a general associate member of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors), a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 1989.
