Ware Malcomb provided interior architecture, design, and branding services for Romeo Orthopaedics’ new outpatient facility in Burr Ridge. Working closely with the building owner, the team transformed the existing suite into a warm and welcoming space designed to enhance the patient experience. The remodeled first-floor suite includes consultation areas, surgery scheduling offices, and an X-ray room, all tailored to support the clinic’s specialized care in shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine.
The scope of work involved minor demolition, installation of new walls and doors, updated ceilings and lighting, power and data integration, and custom millwork. The design concept focused on creating a hospitable environment with a warm neutral palette accented by hints of blue to reflect the tenant’s branding. Brass hardware and wood tones add sophistication and warmth, while transom windows with fluted glass film bring natural light into exam rooms. Soft curves were incorporated throughout walls, ceilings, and flooring transitions to create a calming aesthetic.
Special attention was given to the X-ray room, which required additional coordination with specialists. Custom cabinetry was designed to maximize functionality, featuring touch-free pull-out trash cans and “push-pop” upper cabinets for extra storage. Although sustainability was not a client requirement, Ware Malcomb integrated eco-friendly materials wherever possible, adding value without additional cost.
